Sewage is considered Category 3 water. This means it contains pathogenic agents and is grossly unsanitary.

There are 3 types of sewage:

• Industrial
• Non-point (ground, surface, sea, river and atmospheric water)

Domestic sewage contains billions of microorganisms that can initiate infection, allergic or toxic disease.
